Global Movement to Secure Earth’s Future- Space Colony Seeks Participation from Sri Lanka

Space Colony Earth |
Space ColonyEarth is an historic plan to ensure the future survival of humanity and includes the development of multiple sets of Earth ARKhives. The Digital ARKhives will include science, technology, history, and art information that would be critical to the continued progress of humankind following a regional or global catastrophe. The Living ARKhives will store DNA from humans, animals, plants, and microbes deemed critical to the future of humanity and the Earth environment.
Earth ARKhives will be stored in a network of five underground Earth Ark sites located in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Two additional sites are being considered in Australia and the Middle East. A site for the North America Earth Ark has been tentatively selected in Eastern Washington.
Designed to withstand any number of potential disasters, the Earth Ark sites will be linked to a Lunar Ark to be placed on the moon in 2018. The Lunar Ark will store an additional copy of the Earth ARKhives and will be a relay facility for communications if satellites and Earth-based systems are compromised.
“The Lunar Ark is a major part of our back-up plan for Earth,” said Lynch, “something many top scientists, including the late Carl Sagan, have warned for decades should be done.”
Earth ARKhives at Earth Ark sites and onboard the Lunar Ark will be continuously updated to ensure the viability of the information stored.
A set of the Earth ARKhives will also be included as a time capsule onboard Starship Ark, scheduled for launch in 2020. Starship Ark will be the first interstellar craft to target a planet outside our solar system.
A Legacy for All People
Space ColonyEarth will provide people throughout the world with an opportunity to become part of this historic project. By building their Family ARKhives™, they will benefit themselves and their families for generations to come, as described in the Family ARKhives two-minute video, “Don’t Take It with You.” But the mission of Space Colony Earth and the contributions of its participants goes further—to benefit the entire human race.

Gautam Gambhir |
it was an excellent sixth wicket partnership between Suresh Raina (65*) and Irfan Pathan (34*) that guided them home. Raina and Irfan Pathan deserve as much credit as Gambhir. Both of them had some nervous moments as boundaries came off leading edges. But once they were set, they dictated the proceedings and scored boundaries at will leading their side to victory.
India now lead the ODI series 2-1.

SB Dissanayake |
The university admissions will be increased to provide relief for students affected by the Z score issue stemming from last year’s Advanced Level examination.
He said about 2,000 to 3,000 more students would be offered university admission this year. He said the ministry is discussing with Vice Chancellors to find out the availability of rooms and facilities to expand this year’s intake. The minister said the ministry is obtaining the numbers of students inconvenienced due to the Z score issue.
He said the government has already taken up the issue seriously, and it would take every measure to provide the fairest solution without causing inconvenience to students.
Minister S B Dissanayake noted the government is bound to implement the court order, adding that it would be proceeded with avoiding injustice to any student.
He also noted that he would present a special cabinet paper for approval to allow the students who sat for the A-L examination for the third time last year to sit for a fourth time too.
He observed that those who criticize the court verdict must understand that it is an insult to the court. He also said that politically motivated teachers’ unions and student's movements had contributed to worsen the Z score issue from the earlier stage.
Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Information Director General Prof Ariyaratne Athugala and Media Center for National Development Director Ariya Rubasinghe also participated.

Andrew de silva |
Sri Lankan born Melbourne singer songwriter Andrew de Silva has overcome massive personal hurdles and stolen a second chance at stardom after taking out the Australia’s Got Talent title.
The former member of ‘90s boy-band CDB said winning the contest was “a dream comes true."
An emotional de Silva said he would be happy to put singing at weddings behind him to focus on recording and touring.
“It’s all about the music, and now I’m just going to start living my dream,” Andrew de Silva said.
The father of Yazmin, 10, and Jada, 4, said the experience was “life-changing” and the $250,000 prize would help his family become debt free.
He overcame cancer and a serious stutter and shared his touching stories with the nation.
“Those experiences are a part of my history and made me who I am,” he said.
His partner of 12 years, Elle, said their daughters were so proud of their dad.
“It’s been such a journey, and it has changed him,” she said.
“He’s doing so many things now that he wouldn’t have otherwise done.”
Andrew de Silva said he performed an original song Now That I Believe because it was all about keeping faith.
Judge Dannii Minogue said de Silva deserved to have a successful career in the music industry.
“It takes lots of guts to come back to the industry when you’ve already been part of it,” Minogue said.
